What an easy way for the police to arrest these criminals. They didn't need to go looking for them. :-D I'm surprised that the show was not hosted in the local police station! ..Oh, yes Mr Smith, your dressing room is cell 5!! ;P Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.
    I'm coloured, yet clear.
    I'm fruity and sweet.
I'm jelly, what am I? Muse on it further, I shall return!

A number of 'wanted' criminals were invited along to a TV gameshow they didn't know was fake, only to find themselves under arrest instead.[^]

It would have been more sporting, not to mention entertaining, if they'd made them all play a real game. The winner's petty offenses could be forgiven, and the rest go to jail.:) "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

I've often thought it'd be a good solution for keeping young offenders off the streets - tell them they're on a new reality tv show then lock them in a dingy building where they have to do menial tasks (sorting recycling, or stuff like that) that'd somehow help society. Of course they'd have no idea the cameras were just dummies and that there were thousands of identical units over the country doing the same :-D -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! I think the civil rights people got in a bit of a flap about it because it was a deception in order to make an arrest. Personally, I am more concerned with the civil rights of the victim of their petty crime. Every so often there is a story of a fiesty pensioner having to fend off petty criminals in order to keep their purse or wallet - not all of them survive the ordeal. Which escalates the petty crime into a murder.

This is rather similar to a Simpsons episode, where scofflaws are mailed prize certificates ("YOU HAVE WON A FREE MOTORBOAT!!") directing them to collect it at the Springfield police station - when they arrive, they are beaten and fined...
You**'re one microscopic cog** in his catastrophic plan...
