The teaching post earlier reminded me of a dream that one of my students shared with me and I wanted to know of anyone else has had dreams like this. This student was probably the best programmer that I had taught. We had just started working on Windows programming and he was getting into the "everything is a window" mindset. He was half asleep one morning and his alarm clock went off. So in his dream he heard the alarm clock and tried to turn it off. But he was frantic because he could not find the HANDLE to the alarm clock so that he could either call the Off function or close the instance. Any other good programming dreams out there? This is more dementia, than anything I think. When I started getting into web design, I went through a little period where I'd imagine the HTML to layout my living room or desk as a web page. BW The Biggest Loser

I joined a company some time back which develops Workflow solution as their one and only product. After a week or so, i got ill . In fact I had a bad stomach and that whole night I was thinking everything as a workflow. I thought that everything even inside my stomach was going through some workflow process. And that was in dreams.

one of my friends dreamed of packets running around when she was taking a networking class and a socket level programming project was going on, even a week after the project was submitted. ankita

When I am deep in a project, I will sometimes dream of my code. I see the modules lined up in an infinite space, and I see the data flowing through and between the modules. Other Large Unknown Objects drift by, other processes and other tasks.

Not exactly a programming dream, but during the beta of NT4 I played the demo version of Quake a bit. I had a dream that the user interafce for NT4 becanme the Quake game; to get my files I'd have to forge streams, storm a castle wall battling demons. Logging off was a nightmare; going round and round twisting passages always to return back to a closed portcullis.

Never really dreamt about programming. But there have been times when I'll go to bed thinking about a problem and I'll wake up with a start in the middle of the night with the solution. It's kinda weird. :-D

I’ve also had an alarm clock programming dream/nightmare. I've never worked with developing embedded programs, so my dream/nightmare is that the alarm is going off (that’s the bug), I haven't a clue how to fix the bug, and a dead line is fast approaching (late for work). I know, it doesn't really make much sense, nor does it make any sense when I’m half asleep. The biggest problem is that this dream/nightmare repro's almost every night, for the past two years. I’ve thought of putting a computer on my night stand, and writing an alarm clock application, just so I could fix this dream/nightmare once and for all.

I don't have programming dreams. However, I sometimes dream I'm inside Unreal Tournament, fighting it out. That really freaks me out. :~ -- Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.

I've also found the shower to be a great place of inspiration. :-D -- Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.
