Technically, the guy did what he should as an elected official and has presided to the will of the people (who didn't want to be in Iraq in the first place) and did what he said in his manifesto. Is that what you americans have come to expect and want, leaders who say one thing and do another? I wish Tony Blair would ante up and start saying what he intended doing rather than saying one thing and doing another the minute he gets power. Rhys A bus station is where a bus stops. Well, instead of reading a bunch of random quotes that are intended to make him look bad, I've been listening to his speeches fairly consistently for 3 years and understand his take on the War on Terror to be that of a long term initiative, which is what Kerry said too. BW The Biggest Loser

Of course it will be a long term effort to reduce dramatically the threat, an effort which will need much more than military actions to succeed. Terrorists will fail. IMHO, they are making the same mistake than Germany, UK or the US did during WW2, believing the morale of the civilian population would collapse because of terror bombings. The morale never collapsed, neither in UK nor in Germany or Japan, on the contrary, these bombings gave powerful arguments to propagandas to bolster the civilian resistances.
