I am looking for any C++ kinda parser which can give me list of classes, functions and variable etc. in any C++ file/files. Basically i am thinking of writing a documentation system for C++.. What about GCC-XML: http://www.gccxml.org/HTML/Index.html[^] It will give you an xml representation of the source code. You can then massage the xml into whatever you want...

For a parsing system, try the Program Database Toolkit However, if you're after a documentation system....what about one of the existing toolikts like Doxygen. Stuart Dootson 'Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p'

There was discussion on that last week on the boost list; start by looking up that thread and have a look at this page: http://spirit.sourceforge.net/repository/applications/show_contents.php There are some C++ processing tools there.

There is a way, at least in Notes 4.5. I've not tried it for ages though, and can't remember where it is on the menu. As a guide, when searching for a feature in Notes, look everywhere you think it couldn't logically be... I was fooled by the straight-forward structure of the .NET Framework into thinking extending VS.NET would be dead easy. Hah! What a nightmare. <sarcasm>Oh but it's so much fun Paul :-D</sarcasm>My bug of the day is the fact that aProjectAddedevent gets fired when a file which is not within a project is opened for editing within the IDE. I can only surmise that an empty project is created to enclose the file whilst it's being edited... :~ Mind you, the MAPI stuff Beth works with makes writing a VS.NET add-in look simple.
