I'm paraphrasing a here but the thrust of the comments is what I heard this morning:- Bush:- Now is the time to move forward with the Middle East peace process. Blair:- We should concentrate our efforts on the Middle East . Isreali Government Spokesman:- I'm glad he's dead

Sadly, this story[^] reflects the same attitude. 50 armed police to arrest an old scientist ? I thought they needed those police to protect against suicide bombers X| The tigress is here :-D

He's not just an old scientist, to think so is ignorant. Much of what is known about Israel's nuclear arsenal is thanks to that man, who not only leaked information about it, but drew detailed maps of Israel's underground nuclear warhead storage facility and gave them to several Israeli news networks. He is, as the BBC story notes, widely regarded as a traitor in Israel. And don't be so foolish to chide them for arresting him -- the Israeli police and military work around the clock to prevent the bombings that hit Israel almost weekly.

I don't see how anyone can remotely like this guy. He stole most of the money intended to help the palestinian people. There is a special place in hell reserved for people who steal money intended to help the sick and the elderly.

As far I care the whole Middle East should be armed with nuclear weapons so they can have at each other like they really want to, in a glorious thermonuclear exchange for history books. It will be reduced to a smouldering lifeless wasteland and then we can we can walk in and pump out all the oil. Perfect solution. :-D

Should we also let India and Pakistan do the same? Maybe it would've been for the best if the USSR and the US likewise followed. Sadly, if all the Middle East had weapons, Islamic radicals would likely target the only 2 nations they truely hate, the US and Israel. And FYI, there is no oil in Israel.
