I was just reading the poll comments and I was surprised that it quickly switched topics from employment to women. One of my first programming jobs I took was solely based on the hotness factor of the women in the office. This was during the Y2k crisis and tech people were in high demand, and I didn't go with the highest paying job but one where the women were really nice looking. Needless to say it was one of the best experiences in my life because I got involved with a woman in HR and going to work became really fun. I don't think I ever wrote better code than when I worked there because I was relieved of stress in the broom closet. Has anyone ever done this and is it ethical? I was young when I did that and didn’t give it a second thought then. I  Martin Marvinski

Putting regular laws aside, HR folks sometimes control things like hiring and $. They also get involved in employee disputes and legal issues. Being involved could create a conflict of interest on either side. Ed

Question - why would you pursue sex with this person if they obviously wanted something different to you, and why would you want to have sex with someone you would not consider marrying ? Sounds to me like you were equally manipulative in getting your end away, and that this is a case in point regarding the inadvisability of office romance ( or, in this case, office sex ). A friend of mine, lets call him Joe, has had to leave several jobs, due to excessive office "romances". The "best" (or at least funniest, if you aren't him) example was this one place he was working at, he had dated every woman there. In fact in one week, he had dates with three different women from work. From what another friend (a guy) told me about it, basically what happened is the girls started getting pissed at Joe. They made his life quite difficult. Apparently, some discontented female co-workers set it up so that it appeared he had partaken in some activities he should have at work, which resulted in his being asked to resign. **Note:**It was not to imply you were doing anything similar, or to make any judgments. Just thought I would share that. Most work places have policies about dating co-workers. If you aren't infringing on them, or if none exists, and you still feel guilty, talk to your supervisor about it. "No one knows what power lies yet undevelopped in that wiry system of mine." I worked with a stunning women once. Unfortunatley her beauty was only skin deep and it was hell on earth. Everyone in the office avoided her and any new employee soon learnt the hard way. She was smart though and it was infuriating because all she needed to was change her attitude a bit. However nothing we tried could get her enthusiastic about her work. Eventually we let her go. I was not the guy who hired her but the guy who did said he was blinded by her long legs. I wish he had been joking. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork?
