"It seems persuasive that, given the size of the U.S. current account deficit, a diminished appetite for adding to dollar balances must occur at some point," [^] - Alan Greenspan. Wish I could talk like that. Then, not even geeks would understand what I'm saying! :-D Marc MyXaml Advanced Unit Testing

it means "Stop spending the top 1%'s money, liberals" I bought a Dell XPS gaming system, started a fan site, and never looked back.

Nah, you aren't responsible for my post. I couldn't resist but will try harder next time. I bought a Dell XPS gaming system, started a fan site, and never looked back.

Seeing that Bush has the undeniable compulsion to pass every spending bill that hits his desk shouldn't you be refering to him? A current account deficit means the U.S. is importing more (e.g. $105 dollars worth of imports, each year) than it is exporting (e.g. $100 dollars worth of exports each year). The only way for the U.S. dollar to stay at the same level is for foreigners to buy (and keep) U.S. dollars ($5 in this case). If the foreigners do not want to buy/keep dollars, then the dollar will fall. Warren

I don't mind the actual version ;) - I'm a foreigner (Canadian) and two of my favourite places are New York and Hawaii :-D

I agree. I am WAY to the right of Bush. But he was to the right of Kerry and so he got my vote. I bought a Dell XPS gaming system, started a fan site, and never looked back.
