I'm curious as to when most users visit the lounge, and other sections of CP. I check what's new in the AM, drop in once or twice during the workday (between working miracles and tending the needs if the IQ-challenged), then spin down after work browsing the site while I download terabyte-sized files from government sites over my huge wireless Internet pipe. I imagine Chris probably sees my posts over his morning bowl of grubs (yes, Crocodile Dundee is going through another cycle of reruns here), but when do the rest of you check in? "What knife? That's not a knife! Now there's a knife!" - Loraina Bobbit, to her husband John, as he's drooling on her favorite silk pillowcase again...

I'm here all day, everyday. Well, everyday except when I'm taking a forced break from the machine. Usually I wake up, stumble bleary eyed to my office, check the lounge, giggle, go forage for food and start work, constantly checking in to see how the inmates are doing. Around 14hrs later I stumble, bleary back to bed. Repeat. cheers, Chris Maunder

Theses days, much too often, not that I don't like it, but seems that I have nothing else to do when my piss poor computer ( see other thread that says I'm in need of a spanking new state of the art computer ( iMac if possible )) compiles and link our program. ( Quebec time zone, so... ) In the morning, to catch up on the europeans members' posts, then it's just a click away, but usually there's a break in the early afternoon, so I don't look at it that much, and now, still wondering why, I read it at home ... in the evening with a game of hockey on TV ( ice hockey ) in the background ... But there are times that I will look at specific stuff, usually only skim the C++ forums, just to see what are the usual problems people have... Max.

What's the big deal about CNN? Is CNN that big in Australia? Here in India people watch CNN with cynicism. In the morning I try to get on to read the lounge, the VC forum and a few newsgroups, then when I get to work I refresh CP at least three times an hour, often more, once I get home I tend to the kids, and log on when they go to bed, maintaining my three times an hour miminum refresh while I work on some of my own projects. I tend to visit CodeProject when I first get into work. I read the lounge and then go through the forums looking for any questions that I might be able to answer. I'll have a quick browse of any new articles that catch my interest. During the working day, I'll come back every so often to catch up with the gossip in the lounge and check the forums. I'm the only "real" developer on-site at the moment, so CodeProject at least gives me a chance to interact with like minded people. I also visit when I'm trying to find a particular bit of code that I need. I may check the site again in the evening when I'm at home but not that often really. Michael :-)

I have to agree that BBC is much better. But here in US (for example) CNN is the #1 source of info as far as most of the people concern since BBC is not an American company.

I don't visit CP very often... Just a few ... err ... hundred times per day. :) One of these days our employers will catch on to us all and will file a law suit against CP for draining their resources. ;) Now that I am thinking about it, when CP became popular - this is when stock markets started to fall... Is there a connection?
