Can we have a shiver smiley? Please! I'm in NYC, it's currently -19C with wind-chill (-2F in old money). What's it like where you are? If it's colder I might feel better ;) Gary You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, "My God, you're right! I never would've thought of that!" - Dave Barry

This morning I woke up with my single sheet kicked off, windows wide open and I was still too hot to carry on sleeping. That was about 7am. A little later I went out to my car to open the windows for a few minutes before I headed to gym. It was tricky because the black plastic kept burning my fingers as I wound the windows down. After an ice-cold shower at gym I strolled down to the bike shop and was promptly sweating buckets in the noon-day heat. Back home I went for a swim after lunch. It is now 6pm and I feel like another swim, I can see a heat haze coming off the bricks outside. I feel your pain, Gary. regards, Paul Watson South Africa The Code Project Pope Pius II said "The only prescription is more cowbell. "

Well you think it would favour us locals but it looks good for you Poms. 4/34 was not a good spell for us. Brrrr.... My car was a pack of ice this morning. And to top it all, I ran out of fuel last night as my tank's gauge was stuck. I had an emergency delivery (130 CAD for 20 liters of fuel, the bastards). -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson

This morning it got to 38 but its supposed to warm up to about 73 by 1:00 PM. I wore my shorts to work but had to wear a long sleeve shirt - damn I hate winter. We have a Canadian cold front moving in by Wed. however ( can't them damn Canadians do anything right ) and its supposed to drop us into the high 40's ruining a perfectly good Christmas . We have a forcasted low of 25 for Wed. night and it will be chilly thru the week but we should be back into the 50's 60's for the New Year. I remember one Christmas ( 1969 ) when we all went swimming at a local lake on Christmas day. It was in the high 70's low 80's. A few years later ( 1980 ) we went to sleep on New Years Eve with temps in the 60's and woke up New Years Day to a gigantic ice storm - 2-3" of ice coating everything - power lines down - freeways closed - TV and Radio stations off the air - trees fell all over the place. Texas - gotta love it. Richard "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer --Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

AH, I see that cold snap lightened up since it passed through here. Twas -19C (-3F) actual -37C (-35F) something wind chill when that weather system was here in Iowa yesterday. Now are you not glad that we hearty Iowans take edge off the nasty weather for you :)

I just went to the local store to buy some chocolate (M&Ms) they were frozen solid in the few minutes it took to get back to my office :( I could do with a caipirinha or something to warm me up after I go home .. hmmm mulled wine. might have to pick up some red wine on the way home :) Gary In Scotland, there is no such thing as bad weather - only the wrong clothes. - Billy Connolly
