Well the English tradition is to consume lots of alcohol which blanks out all memories of the previous year, thus allowing us to make the same mistakes of the past year in the new year. :-D Michael CP Blog [^]

For a few years now, since Jan 2000, I have been playing video games online with friends during the new year. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

When I used to live in a much colder climate we used to go out on a frozen lake, get drunk and fire off model rockets with "modifications" to them. This year we're going to a dance in the evening, but something is going to blow up in the day time, not sure what yet.

“Men are born soft and supple; dead, they are stiff and hard. Plants are born tender and pliant; dead, they are brittle and dry. Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible is a disciple of death. Whoever is soft and yielding is a disciple of life. The hard and stiff will be broken. The soft and supple will prevail.” ~ Lao-tzu

My family gathers at a house and plays cards until about 11:55, goes to the t.v. and watches the ball drop, says goodbye, and then drives home.

New year day is for party and alcohol :D ! nothing else. Going up north with my family on the 31, and coming back on the 2, working on the 3 lol. The 31 and 1 night will be for party, drink etc... (The problem here is that alcohol stores are all or mostly closed cause of some employe and employer dispute. And the gouvernment own all the alcohol stores, so it's hard to have real alcohol, we still have beer and things like that in the markets but that's its. ). And some snowmobile and snowboarding during the day :) Have fun ! Merry Christmass and Happy New Year to everyone.

I've occasionally been tempted to do one of the local 'resolution runs'. A resolution run is a 5K run, usually started at 11:45 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, it's usually colder than a well-digger's a** in the Klondike where I live[^] this time of year, so I chicken out.

Yesterday was the new year for me! :) I ignore calendars except for paychecks and taxes. ;) I didn't have time to celebrate. :) so, happy new year!
