I am not against love. I am all for love. But I am against the concept of marriage. I am married too now. So I should know. Even if marriage is to be allowed for, it should only be after at least 5 years of a stable relationship between the same two people [man/woman pair] Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

If I may put my foot in it I hope this is not the result of one of those arranged marriages that still go on in India? If that is the case then I take back what I said and bow to your experience. I always found it very strange that Christianity basically bars this from happening as apparently it is a sin for two people to live together without being married. Also this is why Janina and I are moving intogether yet only planning on getting married when I hit thirty or so. That will give over 8 years of living together to see if it will work. Nish [BusterBoy] wrote: [man/woman pair] Well there I disagree. I don't see anything wrong with a man marrying a man or a woman marrying a woman. I am 24 now, I got married when I was 23, which is far too early as far as I understand now, and specially for me, since there are times when I behave like 15 and not 24. It was not an arranged marriage as is usual here. I simply married on a whim, even though I started regretting my decision a month or two before the actual marriage date. But by that time the marriage was fixed and arrangements had been made on a massive scale [here marriages are like miniature-christmas things] Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

Something that I am learning lately: some people are beyond help. I am the same way as you are - my first intention is to jump in and try to explain that someone is wrong (according to my believe), but I find that it almost never works, so lately I refrain myself from doing so. Unless a person comes to me for advice because they recognize that they have a problem or they trying to push their believe on me I try not to engage in the argument.

I have always believed that I can change people by simple, pure, logical arguements. This belief of mine leads me to express my opinions a lot more than is wise. However I never want someone to think I am forcing it down their throat, even though they mat see it that way. If the person gives a stern "Paul, shut up, I am not interested" then I will stop. But if it is just a "no but I think..." reply then I see that as an invitation to carry on hammering my point home. I am way too intense about my beliefs. I feel they are all, almost all, logical and I don't see how others cannot see the truth in them! Of course I am young and naive and have a lot to learn still :) Ok, now I will shut up... :-D regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Martin Marvinski wrote: Unfortunatly Deep Throat isn't my cup of tea Do you Sonork? When we do those things (trying to convince other people to our believes) we act the same as those Christians that you have mentioned. That is why I've come to a conclusion that it is a bad thing. You cannot change people, at least not adults. The only way an adult person changes is when something happens in their live that is very dramatic and they are forced to rethink their attitude towards a given subject. I see it over and over again. Even after the person walks away from the discussion with you nodding and agreeing I bet you anything that they do it not because they really agree with you, but because they are tired of confrontation. You cannot change how person feels inside about it (whatever it is).

I had a friend much like Adams once, though I was not quite so love-stricken over her as he is. We would talk for hours on the phone (she lived in New Zealand and I was in London the one time, the phone bill was huge) but it would be about life in general, not how she felt about me or I her. It was great but as Adam has said you left the conversation still feeling very confused. I can imagine though that part of her conversation with Adam was over her last boyfriend, that can be a killer! You just want to scream "shut up and listen to how much I love you, you daft broad!" Beyond being my wife and the mother of my 2 children she is my best friend, confidant and soul mate. It's just that neither one of us likes using the telephone much. I suppose it's the fact that Ginny and I talk so openly and freely that I don't understand why everybody doesn't.

I mean they share the same house, kids, lives, food, pets, cars, holidays, family etc. etc. yet they can hardly share a feeling or thought between the two of them when in the same room! What is that? Ok I am going to put my foot in it again (and make Christian think I am a girl again) but some of my best friendships have been with a woman and not a guy. Before I get called an 'ignorant chap' again :-O , maybe I should be given a chance to explain. My belief comes from experience in two areas of my life. Personally I enjoy hanging out with girls better than hanging out with guys myself. Problem is that no matter what the relation is, there is always the sexual tension. Now if I were gay, I guess that wouldn't be a problem, however...I'm not talking about gay guys having female friends. The friendship becomes a problem when I have to remind myself that I'm married and I shouldn't get myself into these kind of situations. Now if I weren't married, I would be hounding around making all the girlfriends I possibly could! That isn't what I'm talking about either! Several years back I worked for the Dallas Police. When I moved to the day shift, I found that 2 of the 5 days I worked I answered a disturbance regarding the husband coming home, after working a night shift, to find his lovely bride in bed with another guy. Being the inquisitive person that I am, I would find out what got them mixed up in the first place. The brides excuse was _always_ that it started off just a friendship. So, you can always tell me that you have this girl friend and sex never enters your mind. I believe you. I also believe that that is not the norm or that there is no chance of a sexual encounter...for whatever reason  but I won't go there! If you can handle it, enjoy...I would if I could, but my wife knows better! PS: Women just love uniforms! ed 'Love is an obsessive delusion that is cured by marriage.' Dr. Karl Bowman
