Any sci fi fans out there? Just curious. I've recently been getting back into it a bit. Watching some Stargate and waiting on Battlestar Galactica which starts on Friday. Remember the old series? Anyway, what are you fans of...sci fi movies, tv?

Red Dwarf is my favourite, but I've a bit of a soft spot for Stargate too. Anna :rose: Riverblade Ltd - Software Consultancy Services Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. I liked Star Wars. But I don't like these other shows. But, I don't really watch tv except for Seinfeld. "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

The only show I make a point to watch is Star Trek: Enterprise. I think it's quite good, especially the last couple of seasons, despite UPN's attempts to bury it. I keep hoping that UPN will go under and Enterprise goes straight to syndication, like TNG and DS9 did. This is probably its last season, but the DVD's are coming out this year for anyone interested in catching up. Other than Trek, I only watch Sci-Fi movies; I don't read much of it either. Star Wars is my favorite, but like someone else said hardly qualifies as Sci-Fi. Others I like are Dark City, Soderberg's Solaris (haven't seen the original), 2001, etc.

Been watching FarScape on DVD lately (half-way into season 4 of 4 seasons). Enjoy Outer Limits (new and old), Twilight Zone (new or old), Watched most of Star Trek Voyager, watched all but a couple episodes of Babylon 5, BladeRunner is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies, recently saw I, Robot on DVD, not as bad as I had expected. Saw most of the first three seasons of Stargate, then lost interest. Subscribe to Asmimov's science fiction magazine and try to read most of each issue.

It's not until this season that they've started to come back to the spirit of Star Trek - explore stuff! Fighting Xindis, time travellers and interdimensional beings. Bah. If Roddenberry was alive, he would've kicked Berman's and Braga's sorry asses for screwing up a potentially excellent series concept. Let's hope they'll find their way back to sane plots... -- Komm tu mir langsam weh, leg mir die Ketten an und zieh die Knoten fest, damit ich lachen kann I blog too now[^]

More (West Wing / 24 ) in space than the Star Wars rip off that the original show was. I'm a Star Wars fan but that is more Space Opera than Sci-Fi. Also a fan of Doctor Who and Babylon 5. I've been hearing good things from the UK about Battlestar. I've been waiting patiently for a while. I also just heard they have already commissioned 6 new eps for next season.

Blade Runner what a movie. I found my VCR copy I bought years ago and was thinking I may need to upgrade to DVD. It was a really great movie that was way ahead of it's time.

The later episodes of Star Gate are much better than the earlier stuff. They have developed a decent underlining plot. I gave up on Star Trek after Next Gen. the other series where worthless (except some of the DS9 episodes weren’t to bad... Social Engineering Specialist. Because there is no patch for human stupidity.
