I agree her pic is hot a typical passport Bio shot , but it is a backgroud blending with a portait. Nice Camera shot with the right lighting and agood use of colors. But it rally doesnt portay Lauren. What it portays is an artistic shot that Laurn is in, and she is bot even the focal point, So it most certainly isn't a Pic of Lauren. Regardz Colin J Davies

Paul, I thinik you arr jumpin to conclusions, Nish was merly pointing out that it was not a suitable pic to show what Lauren was indeed like. Comeing from such a multicutural environment as you do, I'm sure you undestand that beauty is subjective to your cultural bounds. Nish just wants to see Pics of people, which is pretty understanding really, I really feel Paul you have taken Nishes comment out of context, And deserve to send himan apology. I think we are ALL jumping to conclusions here :) I merely was aghast at what Nish said. It had about as much tact as a sledge hammer. Yes I have double standards when it comes to woman and men. If a guy disses another guys looks then I don't really mind, they can deal with it. But if a guy disses a womans looks, especially on a forum were we hardly know each other, then I feel no matter the cultural background that he should get some manners. I know Nish did not directly insult Lauren, but it came out very wrong. Assumptions aside what he said could be taken badly and he should realise that. He should use some tact, coupled with some of his usually very good manners. I am sorry you all took it the wrong way and this has nothing to do with cultural beauty standards. Hey Nish, You wrote another post about having a gender field in the profiles so that readers could choose whether to scan through and look at only guys or only girls. I took your comment about Lauren's pic not being good enough in that context, and while both posts may have been light hearted, for me they started to get a little beyond polite. It's sometimes the hardest thing in the world to work out what someone is actually meaning to say when they type a comment, and it equally just as easy to type something that means one thing to you and something completely different to another person. I think the coolest thing about this all are the tiny little clashes that occur when cultures and values and accepted turns of phrases collide. How often do you get the chance to sit down and talk through a fine point of etiquette (or merely semantics) with someone who lives 15,000 miles away in a completely different world. cheers, Chris Maunder

Well, there are some issue to be considered here. First I never said anything insulting about Lauren or her pic. All I said was that the pic was too far-off-like to actually determine who or what she is. I was responding to a comment from someone [I think it was Roger] who said she looked so gorgeous or something similar. For all I know Lauren might be a super-model. And I don;t really give a damn about a person's looks. Appreciation of looks differ from country to country and from culture to culture. In India skin color is considered a big part of beauty. The fairer the women are, the more likely that someone will be interested in them. And I believe beauty is more than an outter thing. Once you start loving someone, you believe that she is beautiful, outward and inward. And again as for Lauren, I had no intentions of being impolite to her or hurt her. And I also find it curious tha all this while we were slam-bamming each other and nobody minds, but the moment a comment is made in connection to a woman, a lot of people [actually only two - you and Chris] say that manners are missing. I seriously believe my sentence was distorted and attributed meanings and thoughts which I didn't dream of, when I posted that post. Regards Nish p.s. Her web site is down! You did not mean it, but the wording of your post implied it to me. Mainly I was just aghast because normally you are very mindful of your manners. I've remembered what is about. I used to play the door game Tradewars on his BBS. He was a player too and he'd found my base and attacked it. I jokingly said he must have been watching my moves (as you could do if you were near the computer at time time a player was playing). Now I really should have added a smiley, but he must have been having a bad day. The BBS did come back up a few months later and all was forgotten(forgiven) Michael :-)

- You can either place a copy of your icon in the root directory of your site (where your pages most likely reside) this being by far the easiest and preferred option.
- If you have a large site with pages in multiple directories you can place a copy of your icon in each directory.
- Or you can alternatively place a single copy of your Favicon anywhere you wish and include a LINK TAG within your HTML pages to point to it.
The tag should look like this: <LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" href="/your/path/favicon.ico"> and should be placed in the 'HEAD' section of all your pages. With this method you do not have to call your icon 'favicon' but it's generally simpler. Don't forget to change the path name to where your icon resides. BE WARNED - I do not recommend the LINK TAG option as it causes far more problems than the other method. Personally I would recommend that you place a copy of your icon in each directory that you have pages in and also in your root directory i.e. where your default page resides. This is because Explorer will first look for a favicon in the current directory of the page a visitor is bookmarking. If it does not find one Explorer will then look in the root directory. Now the funny thing is it doesn't work for IE6 but in Mozilla it works like a dream. Go figure? why doesn't it work for IE6 did Microsoft Break it? If you look at www.virtuesoftware.net you'll see that I did it correctly. So what gives why no IE6? Any help appreciated! Cheers, David.
