Starting with Dual Monitors

I just got a new Graphics Card which is ASUS RADEON 9200SE. The main purpose is gaming off-course;). But I thought why shouldn't I try with dual monitors. The Motherboard has a VGA card built-in so can I put two monitors now one on the external VGA and other on the built-in. How to do that. If you want dual monitors with several video cards, only one can be an AGP card, and onboard cards are AGP cards. I bet your RADEON 9200SE is an AGP card. What I suggest is that you buy the cheapest PCI video card (an old card, but still a decent one, like a cheap ATI or an NVidia Riva TNT2 will cost you $10 or $15) and plug in your computer. The rule is: you can have as many PCI cards as you want (and your mobo supports), but only one AGP card. Yes, even I am blogging now!

This is what I was looking for Oh, and, BTW, when I mentioned "the cheapest PCI video card", don't get it too literally - at least, check online if it supports dual monitors. Some really old cards (e.g., Trident cards) didn't support VGA BIOS rellocation and didn't support dual monitor setups. Yes, even I am blogging now!

Would it have not been easier and cheaper to just buy a card that supported dual monitors in the first place? I've just had a quick look around and it looks like you would have been better off getting a Radeon 9250 with a DVI out and VGA out (using a DVI to VGA connector if need be) for a small amount more. HTH.
