Depends on the software. I rarely read for stuff like Windows, Office and similar, but for every MMOG I've ever played I've read the EULA :D I also make a point to at least glance through the EULAs for software I download (no, not piracy :p trial-ware, freeware, shareware or what it is called) Unfortunally - I've never found any such clauses as mentioned in the link in any of my EULAs :( --------------------------- 127.0.0.1 - Sweet 127.0.0.1

I don't. Good for him that he got $1000 though. SpyWare and kin should not be allowed to be buried in some EULA. It may be technically legal but we all know what the end result is and that is what the law should be preventing. regards, Paul Watson South Africa The Code Project Pope Pius II said "The only prescription is more cowbell. If I've payed for the software, I usually just check the limitation of liabilities, and if there is stuff regarding to me paying money for something. If it's some free software installed, I read it due to never knowing if it installs spyware; it usually states that somewhere. I read EULAs. But what I find so frustrating, as a software developer, are those who think they have an option to install the software without agreeing to the EULA… when it clearly says “By installing this product you agree to the following terms.”.. Yet not a month goes by where I come across someone who thinks differently. Oh well. ------ I am the sole owner of all comments/statements made by myself, and they do not represent those of my company in any way. Furthermore, it’s a shame it has come to the point where we have to make statements like this. Cheers! ====================== Matthew R. Miller www.computersmarts.net[^]

I scan thru most of them..but pay special attention to the section that indicates how many machines the software can be installed/run on Steve

No. For several reasons: 1) I am not a lawyer, 2) I don't want to get mad, 3) I have no time to read and understand what I am forced to agree to in order to install and use an application I just forked over more than the cost of my computer. John
