I found that Hotmail deserves the award of the most bad service of the internet for the last few weeks

But i don't remember HoTMaiL ever being "fast", or "reliable". I lost my first account there probably 7-8 years ago now, after timeouts and incredibly slow load times made me give up trying to log in for a month or two. Since Microsoft bought it they seem to have perfected the technique of always upgrading the hardware just enough to keep servicing their expanding customer base, without ever expanding enough to serve them well.

Can people actually buy hotmail accounts now? Or is hotmail the mail provider for MSN or something? -- Russell Morris "So, broccoli, mother says you're good for me... but I'm afraid I'm no good for you!" - Stewy

Russell Morris wrote: Can people actually buy hotmail accounts now? Yeah, it's HotMail Premium, or MSN Hotmail Premium, or something like that. Runs $20/year, i believe... close enough to registering a domain and getting some cheap hosting to make it quite unappealing. But... there are people actually running businesses with HoTMaiL/MSN as the provider, so... :sigh:

I have a hotmail or MSN account that was "created" for me when I got my DSL service. I used it to "sign into" and "activate" my new DSL service and haven't touched it since. And yeah, those quotes are meant to sting "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

I have not had any problems which I have noticed with Hotmail. It seems to be working as normal. Speed is not much of an issue for me however, I use Hotmail Popper to access hotmail as a standard POP3 box via Thunderbird. Mail arrives and mail goes out :) For what it is worth though, I have only used their web based email interface maybe three times over the last year ;) Rocky <>< Photo Diet?[^]
