Heh... that was my reaction too. Either i'd go driving around hunting for a wireless signal (more and more coffee shops), or i'd just hook up my cell and surf that way. After all, what's the fun of getting your wires cut, if you can't log onto CP and complain about how slow your backup connection is? :D

What a frustrating last few days. While fixing some water pipes in the housing complex I live in some poor, underpaid worker cut through the telephone lines. That was last Thursday and they finally had it all fixed by this morning. Shows how dependant many of us are on some buried wires. So what have I missed? What a frustrating last few days. While fixing some water pipes in the housing complex I live in some poor, underpaid worker cut through the telephone lines. That was last Thursday and they finally had it all fixed by this morning. Shows how dependant many of us are on some buried wires. So what have I missed? [Sneer] Roadie! [/Sneer] When you guys all ride your road bikes do you chant "Ein zwie...Ein zwie" repetitively while admiring each other's spandex? ;) Seriously though, congrats anyone who rides a bike in a race deserves big props (even if it's not a mountain bike)

If you saw some of the woman roadies who rode rode past me you would be in spandex and on a road bike faster than you can change cogs. ;) The bike I road was a MTB frame with thin road tyres. I will be putting the MTB tyres back on this weekend and finding some trails to enjoy. I saw some nutters doing the road race in full MTB gear. If you saw some of the woman roadies who rode rode past me you would be in spandex and on a road bike faster than you can change cogs. ;) The bike I road was a MTB frame with thin road tyres. I used to have a road bike when I lived on the edge of the prairies for a time and had no mountains or even small hills to ride over. It was a sad time indeed, but I was very amazed at how fast the road bike could go with it's pencil thin tires and huge gears. They probably didn't even inflate those tires to the max either, it would have been like riding on squishi sponges all the way. Oh well just think what their time will be if they practice enough on those tires then switch to racing slicks. I just like getting out in the bush much more than dealing with cars and idiot drivers etc. Plus there is the added thrill of nearly running into a black bear at least once a year to give it just a bit more edge.
