Couldn't agree more on your choice of car. M BMWs are great. And the new 5 litre V10 E60 M5 looks really good. SMG 7-speed gear box, though - no manual option. Visit Riverside Internet[^] Visit Mike Puddephat Online[^]

Yep, E60 M5 is awful - I thought the SMG-7 was a sequential gearbox? :~ The M6 (here an ACS evolution[^]) would be my first choice. But even with a M3-E36 would I be very happy :-D

nothing to do @ work and I'm looking for a second hand car so to stay a bit on this topic: What would your ultimate car look like? What's in it? Extra features? Why would that matter and why not? What's necessary to make you feel good in your car? I would like a Porsche, but off course can't pay it ;-). A must in my car is a CD- or casetteplayer. And I don't like automatic transmissions :-D. hope to bring up some discussion here ;-). No hurries, no worries.

On my travels, I rent quite a few cars (only one at a time!), and I prefer to rent an automatic. Less risk of opening a window when changing gear in these funny countries that drive on the right. And less familiarisation needed. That said, I always *buy* a manual. They're more fun, and I feel a little more "connected". But if I lived in a city, I'd go for an automatic. What was my point again? Iain.

and don't worry about the music, just get an ipod with a cassete accessory or a fm transmiter (if you have a cd player only).;)

All you really get with the Porsche these days is the name plate. Performance wise there are far more affordable and higher performing cars avaialble these days than Porsche. The Imprezza meets California emissions standards so it uses very little gas when you don't "floor" it. It has all wheel drive and we have literally driven up the sides of mountains in it. In short it's really the ultimate vehicle for anyone who wants performance, versatility and practicality. We leased it originally but liked it so much that we're buying out the lease and keeping it.
