Hi everyone, anybody has experience in licensing font for commercial software? the reason is that we need to have a particular font in the user's PC in order for our application to display properly. Thanks for any advise.

um... you shouldn't have to install a font on a person's pc to make your app look right... should you? -- Raoul Snyman Saturn Laboratories e-mail: raoul.snyman@saturnlaboratories.co.za web: http://www.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ blog: http://blog.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ linux user: #333298

Actually it was requested by our users who uses the previous version of our software and they want the same font for the our new software. The font no longer free so we want to pay the font designer for using his/her font.

E J wrote: The font no longer free so we want to pay the font designer for using his/her font. i'm presuming then that you have contact with the font designer, or can make contact. what i would try to do is to contact them and try to arrange a once-off payment, since that would be the cheapest way of licensing the font. but be willing to negotiate with them... hope this helps. -- Raoul Snyman Saturn Laboratories e-mail: raoul.snyman@saturnlaboratories.co.za web: http://www.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ blog: http://blog.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ linux user: #333298
