Hey everyone, I am looking to buy a few books and wasnt sure if I should just go to my local Barnes and Noble or maybe try amazon. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that had good prices on programming books. As of this moment I am looking for a few Java books. Thanks for your help everyone and have a great long weekend, as I dont have to work tomorrow...hehe! ;P

If you go with Barnes & Noble, buy them online. I've found that some books are $15 more expensive in the store than online. I asked why that was, and they told me that they have to pay for workers to man the store. Makes sense, I guess. With the right shipping choice, you'll still come out ahead by buying online.

I've had good experience with Amazon. Timely delivery, accurate order picking, no shipping over $25, and typically cheaper than brick-n-mortar. BW

bookpool.com has great prices on technical books and super-fast shipping (at least to New England).

I'll second that. They are typically several dollars cheaper than other online stores. If you want to comparison shop Best Book Buys[^] will comparison shop for you. Dan Morris

If you use Amazon, be sure to look for used copies first. EBay is another nice source of inexpensive textbooks. /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Articles | Freeware | Music ravib@ravib.com
