I'd love something like Google Desktop Search[^] running on our file server (indexing certain specified folders only / providing different URL's for different sub folders) Bow, Google Desktop doesn't seem to run either as outfacing web server, nor does it allow to pick folders to index Any software that does this, and works as cool as google?

The add said: The Google Search Appliance starts at $30,000 to search up to 500,000 documents. Is it me or does nto sound a bit costly? 500,000 documents @ $30,000 = $16.6 per document.

You did your division the wrong way around there. It's actually 6 cents a document. If it was $16.6 per document then 500,000 documents would cost $8,333,333.33. A much bigger chunk of change. Now if I could only get someone to buy something I sell for that much. Greba, My lack of content on my home page should be entertaining.
