Hi Everyone, I just downloaded and am currently using cygwin as a Linux emulator for windows. I am more comfortable moving around Unix compared to DOS. I was wondering if anyone has used cygwan and could give me a reference on how to set things up like vi, emacs, clear, etc (if possible). Also if anyone uses another emulator that you like better can you post a link? That would be great, thanks!! Have a good Friday everyone, so far mine has been great!! :-D

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. We shouldn't assume something's debugged just because everyone in the whole world has access to the source code.

I prefer SFU[^] - it is not exactly a Linux emulator, but rather a set of POSIX tools.

My programming blahblahblah blog. If you ever find anything useful here, please let me know to remove it.

Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs-Cgywin-Remove I dont like or use vi or emacs. If you installed the pine newsreader, you'll get a great text editor, pico. Most things seem to be set up well in cgywin, but outside of something to "play" with, I can't imagine you wanting to work that way. To each his own.

Microsoft makes Digital Photos fun with Photo Story 3 and its free.

Just out of curiosity, why do you prefer SFU over cygwin? ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF!

Easier to install, faster, more BSD-ish, and less buggy. It has fewer features, though. For instance, no free X for SFU.
