A friend of mine put together some documentations in HTML format. HTML turned out great, but now he wants to put it in 7x5in booklets. The booklet will be printed on 15 pieces of paper (30 pages total). Since it is reasonably small, he wants to print it out and staple in the middle. I have no idea what to suggest. What is the best software for formatting something like this? Alex Korchemniy

Converting to PDF and printing from that might give better control. Otherwise, don't shoot me for suggesting this, get it into Word. regards, Paul Watson South Africa PMW Photography Gary Wheeler wrote: It's people like you that keep me heading for my big debut on CNN...

I'll have him try PDF. About Word... actually I tried that. Make page layout landscape and set to 2 columns and copy and paste the HTML (luckly is very clean HTML formatted with CSS). The autoflow is nice, but unfortunatly it doesn't end up right since on paper you have to print: Sheet # 1 = Page 1 & 30 Sheet # 2 = Page 2 & 28 Sheet # 3 = Page 4 & 26 Something like that. Maybe try Publisher? But i never really used it. Alex Korchemniy

Just about any word processing or page layout package would handle this. Personally since it's such a small document I'd probably just import it into Word and change the styles to match what I wanted. Then I'd PDF it and send it out to my local printer (if I had more than a couple of hundred to do) or copy shop for printing, folding and stapling. The advantage of this is that you can (within reason) ignore your print margins because they will print your document on larger stock and cut it down to size. You can do it yourself too, of course, but nothing beats the raised ink look of a high end digital press ;) Oh, most page layout or word processing software, in conjunction with your printer driver, will let you set some kind of booklet option so the pages are in the right order for centre stapled booklet printing (in Word it's on the Margins tab of the Page Setup dialog - choose "Book fold" from the multiple pages combo). Cheers, Drew.

See my other comment below. Word handles this fine if you know where to set it up for booklet printing. Cheers, Drew.
