I guess it has been asked before, but I'm lost with all the Side-by-Side Questions: Is it possible to install VS 2003 and VS 2005 Beta 2 side by side? This will not be a test environment anyway, but I want to avoid nasty surprises.

I have VS6, VS 2003 and VS 2005 all installed side by side. Installed in that order and they work just fine. The only minor niggle is that whenever JIT debugging is invoked you don't get the option of using VS6. i have VC6, VS 2003 and VS 2005 beta 2 all installed on the same VMWare win2k virtual machine without any obvious problems. i have not done much with the system yet, but the IDE's all run and nothing has blown up yet. still i don't feel like installing beta2 on a real system any time soon, i saw the uninstall instructions for beta1 ;) zen is the art of being at one with the two'ness

those uninstall steps are a pain, and mine wouldn't let me remove SQL Server 2005 for some reason, but i needed to upgrade anyway, so now i have half a VS install :sigh:
