Coincidence?The 'love' scenes were cringeworty... I know Natilie Portman can act; I've seen her in other movies; she was very dissapointing in this. I blame Lucas! If I'd paid to go see it I'd want my money back!! (Our Manager expensed a few tickets for the troops.) The CGI & fight scenes were excellent though. Gary Marc Clifton: "In other words, VB is like a bad parent. It can really screw up your childhood."

Well, the effects were so constantly shifting, perspective changing, etc., that only a robot could follow what was going on. Coincidence?The Frankenstein scene at the near the end is priceless. I pissed myself laughing, when darth vader broke out of the thing holding him, when he was told what he had done.

Coincidence?The problem with Star Wars was that it had an actual interesting story the first time around, the rest are special effects screen fodder, increasingly less interesting on a near logarithmic scale. And now that I've seen that home made star wars Revelations film and seen how easy those special effects are to duplicate for little or no budget I can't help but think what might have been if the money was spent on writing talent instead of making Yoda's cape swirl realistically. I hope that we start to see a golden age of classic sci-fi novels and stories brought to film (In fact I think we are starting to see this in it's infancy) because the special effects are now up to it and many of those books and short stories had real substance to them and very interesting themes and philosophy that you just don't see anywhere else. I've seen some very low budget "independant" films lately that are much more interestig, thought provoking, entertaining etc that any big budget thing to come from hollywood in...well I don't really know how long. More talented writers and less special effects people will cure hollywood (and the whole entertainment industry) of all that ails it right now.

I also agree with the afore mentioned gripe about the lizard's chirping. It was ear splitting in the theater, and it just kept going on and on. But I still loved the movie in all. Heck, I've already seen it twice (tickets are only 4.50 for the early bird shows here in iowa). Brian Van Beek My Blog is Awesome, ok maybe not, but is still fun!!
