What's your favorite blog?

I must say, I enjoy reading Rob's[^] blog. But I'm curious, what writers do people like? What are some good technical blogs? The kind of blog entries I like are the ones that are short and to the point. Not disertations. I like Rob's because they're short little snippets about his life. I like short technical blogs. I'm not much into political blogs. What about you? What kind of blogs do you enjoy reading? Marc My website
Latest Articles: Undo/Redo Buffer Memento Design PatternIf you consider sites like Slashdot and ArsTechnica blogs even though they predate the term (and i most certainly do), then those would probably top my list. I also dig technical blogs. Sites that are essentially someone's worklog, detailing the problems they encounter, the challenges they overcome, the tips and tricks they've picked up over the years. This is rather difficult to do well, and so i have quite a bit of respect for writers who can pull it off. Rob mentioned Raymond Chen, and i will as well: a good writer and excellent coder. Blogs i hate: Anything that updates frequently but posts nothing but links, or links and a pathetically small amount of commentary. If i don't see at least a good paragraph of text sans links, i'll likely move on without reading.

You're in my RSS feeds at home, which I check several times a week. You're one of the few good sources on C++/CLI; even though I don't write professionally with C++/CLI, I find it interesting to learn and see some of the cool things you can do with it (especially the STL.NET bits).

Marc Clifton wrote: I enjoy reading Rob's[^] blog Thanks! :) I have a list of about 20 I regularly (as in daily) read. 3 are personal blogs; the rest are technical. Top of my list are Raymond Chen[^] and Larry Osterman[^]. I'm not much into political blogs either - I get enough of that stuff on talkback radio driving to and from work. Rob Manderson I'm working on a version for Visual Lisp++ My blog http://blogs.wdevs.com/ultramaroon/[^]
Raymond Chen is a champ. I also follow Herb Sutter[^] although he is not that active lately.

None. If I stumble across one when searching for something and it's helpful then that's about the best I can say about any blogs. I'd rather spend my time living my life rather than reading about someone else living theirs.

Same here. For some reason I find them annoying. :-) OTOH, I do have a list of RSS feeds that I collect in my homepage that I check on everyday. Dilbert is #1 on my list, followed by Cool Tools, Gizmodo and anything Math-related. "If only one person knows the truth, it is still the truth." - Mahatma Gandhi Web - Blog - RSS
