      Meh. I've only needed one download so far that has required it. And when i told it "no", then it let me download anyway. I think MS intends this more as a psychological ploy than as any serious technical hurdle.

      You must be careful in the forest Broken glass and rusty nails If you're to bring back something for us I have bullets for sale...

        Well it's like anything else a lock only really keeps honest people out and sadly in the software business the level of honest people is a lot lower than in the real world. If it's too difficult for the average Joe then it's done it's job. Uber hackers are not nearly as much of a threat to the bottom line as the guy next door handing a copy of a CD to their buddy. I've been deeply interested in software anti-piracy measures for many years since starting to sell our own software over the internet and I early on came to the conclusion the best you can hope for is to deter the casual user.
