How about 100 5/5 ratings and lots of praise posted in the message board. A link just for prospective employers, of course. :-D Marc My website

For those who contribute articles: do you typically publish a list of your articles posted at CodeProject in your resumes, or do you provide a link to the page listing your articles? If so is there anyway in which we can make it easier for you in terms of a simpler link, or a different presentation, or some simple way to let prospective employers (or whoever you are looking to impress) see your credentials at CodeProject? cheers, Chris Maunder

I'll second David's wish for a URL containing less numbers. Otherwise, things are pretty good as they exist today.

I've always relied on the paper published stuff I've done for specifics, and then made a vague comment about my CP articles, I find that, right or wrong, employers regard being published on paper as far more of an achievement. This job, they asked for me to send a photocopy as proof, and it was obviously the most impressive thing I brought to the interview. Don't we have a 'see all articles by this author' page already ? I used to just put a link, but i realise a small description on the work and languages used might be even useful. The person handling/reading resumes normally has alot to process. As a result, they don't really bother to open up IE and entering ur link address, assuming they are reading a hardcopy. So now besides a link, i put in a catchy title and a short description. :) Weiye Chen Life is hard, yet we are made of flesh...

I have only one tech article to talk about, and I do list in my CV. I don't, however, give a link such as http://www.codeproject.com/cpp/complex\_declarations.asp. Rather, I say something like Published an article titled How to interpret complex C/C++ declarations at CodeProject.com I turn off the underline for the link, so it doesn't look ugly in print. But the link is blue in color, so whoever is looking at a soft copy will still know it's a link and can click it. And the same goes for my email address. :) Vikram.

I have a link to the 'list_articles.asp' page, and I think mention two of the articles directly (of the massive four I've contributed!) It would be handy to have something like:   www.codeproject.com/articles/by/david+wulff and have it forward/show the list of articles, kind of like flickr tags.   www.codeproject.com/articles/csharp   www.codeproject.com/articles/mfc+bitmap+button etc, would be cool too, for sending links to colleagues and in the forums. As for the presentation, I tihnk the current list is fine.

I think you are very talented and shouldn't bother about comments from stupid company's HR. That companies are not for you. It do helps a lot to say that you have written articles on technical subjects on various websites, but not that exaggerating it stating these are the lists of the articles and I am gold card memeber. Just mention a small point in extra activities about the same. Big companies used to follow the links you give them and will find on their own what were the articles and what's your techincal expertise. http://www.priyank.in/

Yeah I do mention. I have 2 articles up here and I mention both of them. Someone mentioned a similar incident earlier but this happened to me too. One of my works posted here was being used in a company where I went for interview. I came to know about that through one of my friends who was already working there.

No I don't do any of that. However, if you're interested in making life easier on article authors, how about these suggestions: 1) Give the author the ability to delete off-topic threads attached to the article. 2) Do NOT allow unregistered people to vote, download or comment on an article. 3) Allowing the author to omit his profile from the article text so that the otherwise puerile little dickheads will vote the article instead of the author's politics. Those things would be damn helpful. ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Why don't you tie a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat your candy ass..." - Dale Earnhardt "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

nope. Primarily because the voting here is so suspect (more so if it's not a mainstream article where one person trying to get his article ahead of yours can account for a very large swing in the votes).
