Hi, I am planning to create a website and I have some legal stuff that I not sure how is working yet. How is the best way to get the information that you need for: - Privacy Policy( Statement) - Term of Use - Copyright - Limitation of Liability. You have to go to a lawyer or there is a place in the net where you can find standard information that you can reuse Thanks, Florian Szoke

A privacy policy is just a formal document setting out how you gather and use information from people, other web sites, etc. It is possible to write one yourself just by keeping that in mind (and I wish all web sites adopted the simple approach to creating privacy policies rather than filling them with legalese). If your country/state has specific data protection laws then make sure you don't violate them. Terms of use is entirely dependant on your web site. Any template you found would be next to worthless IMO. Copyright is pretty standard across most countries so just find a simple policy that sets out the bare basics and work with that. Start by restricting rights to third parties and then add exceptions, not the other way round, that way you'll be covered for unforseens. Your limitation of liability, if your site requires it (a service, etc) would need more care to ensure you don't violate any relavent laws wherever you are based. I've never written one myself so I don't know what's involved with them.

If you need to create a solid program, hire a programmer. If you need to create a solid contract, hire a lawyer. I see dead pixels Yes, even I am blogging now!
