UPS Delivery Time

I've always assumed that, when using the UPS package tracking service to keep a watch on an incoming shipment, the times displayed for arrival and departure were using local settings. I know from past shipments that local time is always used for the final delivery time. But this morning I checked on a package I'm expecting by tomorrow sometime - ARRIVAL SCAN Phoenix, AZ June 6, 10:05AM is what is being reported this morning. I find that curious, as it was only 4:30 AM in Arizona at the time.:confused: Does anyone know what time zone UPS uses? "...putting all your eggs in one basket along with your bowling ball and gym clothes only gets you scrambled eggs and an extra laundry day... " - Jeffry J. Brickley

It's garbage anyways. I just purchased a heart-monitor. Costs about $80, but I had like $40 in credits so I'm thinking I'll splurge and get next-day as I really wanted it before my next run. So I pay the ridiculous $15 fee. Long story short, on the day it's to arrive, I check the UPS site and it says it's in Texas when it should be in Georgia!!! So I call UPS and they tell me there's been a mistake and it was taken off the plane in TX. They tell me I can't get a refund frmo Amazon until it arrives. Well, I'm not exactly a "follow the rules" kinda guy so I'm like "screw you" and contact Amazon immediately. I told them what the UPS person said and they gave me a complete refund on the shipping. Two hours later it arrived!!! LOL. I ended up paying $25 for an $80 monitor :) Anyway, the point is that the UPS site was obviously wrong so I'm definitely not trusting it in the future.

Oh yeah! I love it! The only thing I don't like is that the buttons are a bit difficult to punch - especially at the end of a tiring run. I know they do that to eliminate incidental pushing of the buttons, but the difficulty in clicking the button combined with the time lag between hitting the stop button and the display responding makes you think you haven't hit the button at all. Then you hit it a second time, which restarts the clock and you lose your time :( Happened to me yesterday. DOH!!! Anyway, it's really good for me and perfect for Krista (my wife) as she has a heart problem so this will help her more properly monitor her heart rate when she walks.

Took me a while to get a page with decent contact info[^] On the right there are links for email and phone. I couldn't get the phone bit to work, but they answered the email pretty quickly.

I'm with Brian - how do you like the A3? I went out for a spin yesterday, and the last thing I did was put on the chest sensor. Got about halfway up the first big climb, glanced at my wrist, and realized I'd left the wrist display sitting on the hall table. :doh:

UPS is a 24-hour a day operation, so I wouldn't be suprised if your package actually got "scanned" in the wee-hours of the morning. Thats when their loading operations occur. Michael Hodnick www.kindohm.com

It really helps me pace myself and even motivate myself. In terms of pacing, I can run longer because I can focus on running within a range and not unintentionally burn myself out too early. Regarding motivation, when I'm tired I can look at the monitor and tell if its psychological or if I'm actually physically tiring. For example, I ran 10k the other day and focused on keeping myself in the 130-159 range.

Cool, the one I have is two parts, a wrist watch and a band that goes around your torso right beneath your chest. They're great for making sure you don't go catabolic (unless that's your goal though) in case you work out in the gym too and don't want to loose those gains. Jeremy Falcon

Yep. The A3 also has the band that you wear around your chest. Kind of a pain, but you get used to it.
