VB rules because VB is easy to write and much more productivity. Also it is the most popular with majority of most programmers. So it proves C# is not even in close proximity to VB wheather in style, syntax or synergy not withstanding the fact that it is worst in appearance such as curly brackets that you don't really need in all languages. What makes matter worst is that C# is offspring of C++ which was only good for progammers and not to mention that it was bad for users. So stop bashing VB and learn to use it therefore it will save you from a lot of troubles. Read more of this issues in my next article "C# bring out worst in us" .

I fail to see a point to your post, other than to unnecessarily create friction and cause undue arguments. If VB is a tool that you are familiar with and helps you to solve problems, then that's all that's important. Anything else is strictly your opinion.

Some editors also insert the closing curly for you.. So you one keystroke instread of 5. So thats a performance gain of 80%! It gets even better... Behind every great black man...             ... is the police. - Conspiracy brother Blog[^]

I'd stay anonymous with a post like that too. You need to provide some links to support your assetions of 'proof'. First off C# inherits much more from Java than from C++ (which suggests you know little about either). Second 'appearance' has little to do with the quality of a language. I personally prefer the curly braces, they make it much easier to see what the nesting is. To even suggest that what language is used has ANY impact on the user is absurd, particularly if you are talking about C# vs VB.Net (since the both compile to identical intermediate code (MSIL) and both use the same runtime environment). Your post only reveals your complete lack of knowlege about any of the languages you mention. Get a life. Learn to program in some other languages. Anyone else catch what this sentence implies... So languages like VB are used by non-progammers[sic]? Can't disagree with that.

Indeed - god bless Visual Assist[^]. It allows me to code in C# at the same pace as those privaleged VB users. In fact, probably faster as I have a huge library of common tasks pre-saved in it now with handy shortcuts.

The big difference taht many don't realize is that you can hang a picture with a BIG hammer if you are skillful and careful but you can't build a house with a little hammer no matter how hard you try and how good a carpenter you are. So if you must choose - choose the BIG hammer. Learn ASM then C then C++ ( big hammer ). With a BIG hammer you can beat the hell out of anything. Along with some misspelled words, I think you misspelled your name, too. Shouldn't that be VBtheBeast. Oh, and I can't wait for Christian to read your post. :) Chris Meech I am Canadian. [heard in a local bar] Remember that in Texas, Gun Control is hitting what you aim at. [Richard Stringer] Nice sig! When I want to hang a picture on a wall, I use a small hammer and small nails. When I want to build a house I use a big hammer and big nails. But that is not to imply that you can't hang a picture with a big hammer and a big nail. :) This was a reply to Stan...seems the reply feature is hosed. Anyone else catch what this sentence implies... So languages like VB are used by non-progammers[sic]? Can't disagree with that.
