Well... I've finally sorted out some work for the summer. After some hard negotiation, I managed to get my boss Brian to agree to pay £120/day over his original offer of £110/day. I'm was fairly satisfied, so I decided to send a text to my mum to tell her the good news. Unfortunatly I managed to send the message not to my Mum, but to my boss by mistake. He then phoned me up half an hour later asking what I meant by the text. Cringe. It was ok in the end because I hadn't written anything inappropriate. But man.... it could have been so much worse! Joel Holdsworth Wanna give me a job this summer? Check out my online CV and project history[^] - now available in MSWord format![^]

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Having been through something similar to that in the past, I now filter my phone's address book by contact type (Friend, Business, Service, etc), and never show the full list at the same time.

You can do that with Outlook - or rather it sends an automated message that once read deletes the original message (so you might as well just follow up with "whoops, didn't mean to send that to you!", or whatever) Clicky[^] -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Buzzwords!

And he could have accepted. That would have made working with him somewhat awkward. :)

That would have been less embarassing/disturbing than asking his mum for a date, since that's who the message was for to begin with.

I think it was obvious that I meant (general) situation when you incidentally send email to somebody else (e.g boss) then you intended (e.g to your gf), not this particular case ( mum vs boss ). Only disturbing thing I see is the way how you intrepreted what I said... :P David
