Need a Product Recommendation - Clustered (?) file system.

Hi Can anyone recommend a peice of software that will allow me to run a file system which is shared over multiple computers without a single point of failure eg: PC 1 Shared Folder PC 2 Shared Folder PC 3 Shared Folder Even though the shared folder exists on each PC it is essentially the same folder. Writes to that folder on any pc will be replicated to each pc. A PC should be able to crash without effecting the rest of the network and when it is brough online again it should have access to the complete folder. Oh, and it needs to run on windows XP! Thanks! Mitch HedbergI do not know about anything that will do that (other than the already posted mention of DFS), but if you do not really need a "folder" and could get away with a block of shared memory that remains consistent between networked machines, there are specialized network cards that do that. I remember reading about them when I was looking into something similar. Found them while researching high-speed networks used for military applications (read: $$$). I do not remember how big the memory area was, but I think it was small (like less than 16KB). Peace! -=- James

Mitch HedbergHow about a mirrored NAS? NAS Keeps the file system independent of all systems and still allows for integrated security. Mirroring offers high availability storage with error correction.

Each one has 4 drives in the unit (and 4 USB ports and a built in Print Server). The NAS supports Stand Mode (4 individual drives), Spanning Mode (drives are arrayed into a single volume), Mirroring Mode (RAID 1) and Parity Mode (RAID 5). I looked at this a few years back and it was buggy as hell and tech support was bad. It should have still been in alpha, not a commercially released product. That I couldn't tell you. I got it for my boss because he wanted to sync a laptop with his desktop anytime he plugged it into the net. But I didn't buy it for myself.
