I was in my profile updating some stuff and I happened to glance up at the number of members here on CP to see the count sitting at 2,066,577 My first reaction was :omg: the last time I actually remember reading/seeing something about member count, it had just hit 1 million. When I signed up, I was member No. 15378 and I thought that was a high count at the time. I have to admit, I am amazed at the number of members here on CP and just how far it has come. One can only imagine what it must be like to control the website that has influence over that many people ... right Chris? At this rate, the name will have to change to Code Empire and we'll all have to start calling Chris ... Lord Maunder Emmm ... maybe I shouldn't be giving him any ideas ... :~

I thought that your 15378 was pretty low until reading the other posts... I got on the bandwagon in the middle of this group #2820. And we can't use Darth Maunder because they always change the name when you add Darth... so it would have to be something like Darth Bob. :bob: Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

If you think about it, though, the number 2066577 is simply a high-water mark. I never see more than 5-6000 logged on at any given time. A good many of those were "one hit wonders."

It's obvious that Chris is a FORTRAN developer at heart, since he's member 1 and not 0 ... just an observation ... ok, getting back to work now. :-D

If you think about it, though, the number 2066577 is simply a high-water mark. I never see more than 5-6000 logged on at any given time. A good many of those were "one hit wonders."

I'm not sure the site can handle more then 5-6000. If it was running better we might see more. :sigh:

That could just be VBScript. ;P

I'm not entirely certain what those numbers "say" ... but to me I'm thinking there's 5-6000 of us actually working, trying to find answers; while the other 2,060,577 are just playing around ... ;P

I believe the number of unique visitors that CP greets every month is somewhere around 1.6 million. And that is an externally audited number. So there may be a few one it wonders, but 1.6 million unique visitors is a pretty staggering number.
