Our corruption is nothing compared to America and our wars are puny. The millions that are dead or dying are nothing compared to the misery you have in your white picket fence houses with it's SUV. Our economies are gems compared to America and our leaders are saints. Everyone is everyones friend and nobody persecutes entire ethnic clans in Africa. All that shit only happens in America, sorry for not remembering the misery in America. </sarcasm> regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Sonork ID: 100.9903 Stormfront

(these are just my opinions, of course) 1. the last presidential election was a farce 2. the way presidents are elected, every step of the process, is insane 3. seems like every 3rd country in the world wants us dead 4. we could educate all of our citizens, but we'd rather buy another f16 or two. 5. corruption and influence peddling is rampant in our government (even without enron) 6. our foreign policy is schizophrenic 7. people assume everything is great here, forgetting that people are the same, everywhere.

Chris, I can't believe that you actually meant what you wrote. We, north americans, live in the best countries in the world. sure we have problems, every country in the world does. but just do a little comparison between your problems and the problems in other countries. You live in a true democracy. when there are scandals, the goverment can and usually does do something about it. Your president does not treat the national treasury as his own personal slush fund. You have property rights, what is yours is yours, the goverment does not come in and take it away from you. You can live where you want, say what you want, do what you want. you do not have to ask permission of some civil servant first. You have plenty of food to eat, so much so that you think nothing of throwing out your leftovers. You do not live in fear of the knock on your door in the middle of the night. The police are there to help you, not control you. The Scots have to be modest. Any where where the men wear plaid skirts is a tough place to be unmodest :) HEY I'm really really joking :) :) I have been there and I loved it and the people I met were of the highest caliber and gentlemen to boot. But the US is still the very best of the very best. The cream of the crop so to speak. Not all of it Just Texas. The rest of the US is getting in pretty bad shape. And just when did sensitivity become acceptable on CP ? Richard If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. I don't watch King of the Hill very often, but I get a good laugh every time one of the Hills uses "Texas" where any non-Texan would say "America" :) I'm rather partial to Maine, myself :) The top 3/4 probably has almost as much independant spirit as Texas, but the botton 1/4 would sooner be part of Mass.
