        As Tom said, it's poor English. But the term "barrel-chested" refers to a large man, well-muscled. Think "lumberjack" in this context, and not the kind that presses wildflowers and dresses in women's clothing.;) "...putting all your eggs in one basket along with your bowling ball and gym clothes only gets you scrambled eggs and an extra laundry day...                   Judging by the state of education and the english language lately it could have been any small town newspaper in North America.

                    Nah, the would have gotten the idom right. Probably spelled it wrong though... Actually, the few surviving small town newspapers (not to be confused with those advertising only rags that litter diveways everywhere) are some of the best around. Most focus only on local news, and are often the only way to find out what the local government is up to. Often volunteer writers (who actually can write). Some students manage to learn the language in spite of the lousy system. (And there are the private and church schools, both of which do a credible job). It's still possible to get a good education here, just not in the public system.
