ATENTION: This stuff is NOT recommended for people who think that movies should be fun. Because of him I gradually stoped going into the movies. He is still the only movie director I adore and everyone I know (including my wife and probably most of you) hates his movies. And now, after 20 years, a new movie by Ingmar Bergman is opening! If you, like me, love to talk about despair, desolation, terror, death and imense incompetence of human beings of understanding themselves check: Site of Saraband[^] Time magazine coment on the film[^] More on Bergman, Liv Ulman and the movie[^] by the columnist of Time Magazine Rui A. My parents loved Ingmar Bergman. I've never understood the allure. Must be a generational thing. What's worse, is they took me to his films. I still remember the scene in some movie where the guy blows out the candles on the candellabra (and that other scene about his rocket, too). Well, one thing I'll say. It's hard to talk about the interesting scenes in Bergman's movies whilst staying in Lounge kid-sister-safe mode. Marc My website
