Has anyone ever heard of a company not releasing their org chart to their employees? What would be the reasoning for this? BW

    All the chickens get it.
And them singing canaries get it.
    Even strawberries get it.

Perhaps it has not been deemed necessary? Is the company small/medium/large/x-large or supersize? (I only ask cos I can). I did work in a bank that stopped doing the charts with any contact numbers on as there was a nasty incident with the alcholic help desk guy and my project manager and 2am drunken and abusive phone calls. Weeks after he was sacked. True story.

That seems strange, and counter-productive. You should always be able to find out who somebody's manager is, becuase it's (unfortunatley) sometimes necessary information. The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.

The only possible reason I can think of would be if the company had previously been raided by headhunters. Not allowing employees to understand their organization seems ridiculous though. David

Yes, my last company, now bankrupt. They did have one but it changed on a daily basis so they gave up!

Yes. Who needs a reason for something that can be so easily explained by incompetence? Somebody would need to build the thing, maintain it, distribute it, ..., and hopefully not change it every other day just for the sake of it. OGR
