"It should be balanced -- an equal amount of men and an equal amount of women," Smart girl.. show me somebody who wouldn't quite agree with her claim :) High school - ONE girl in my class. University - ONE girl in my class. Work - oh well :sigh: David

That is a much harder question that it seems on the surface. Why should I consider race or gender when hiring? I want the best people I can get. If that means hiring a African American to sell sheets to the KKK, so be it. Also, contributions go beyond the just how much money someone can generate on their own. Leaders tend to generate money by inspiring others to do better. Women in the gaming industry can help to open markets that have been historically closed or narrow (i.e. girls buying video games). Anything past that is social engineering which *can* have some positive aspects. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Me - it should be equal opportunity and encourgement not quotas. The worst thing for everyone is to let people in who are not up to standard to meet an agenda. Elaine (egalitarian fluffy tigress) The tigress is here :-D

This is how you understood me? ok. I read it as "It would be so beautiful world if more of my coworkers were women." I agree with you then. David

I disagree STRONGLY with that statement. Why *should* it be any particlar, artifical percentage? The great thing about thsi industry has always been that your skillset determines your success - not your gender or race. I "read" it the same way. Maybe you "wrote" it incorrectly ;-P Cheers, Tom Archer - Visual C++ MVP Archer Consulting Group "So look up ahead at times to come, despair is not for us. We have a world and more to see, while this remains behind." - James N. Rowe

Hmmm... This article again calls into question the value of certification. "...The designation, given to outside experts who prove their ability to work with Microsoft technologies, has also been achieved by some teenagers..." The MCP designation is given as the result of the successful passing (70% or so) of a multiple choice test. My feeling is the girl is just good at taking multiple choice tests... The girl in the pic looks 13-14 to me - anyone else think so? Not taking away from what she achieved of course, but just an observation.
