The only player I know that defected is Brett Hull, son of Bobby(the golden jet) Hull. Who ironically once played for the Winnipeg jets before they joined the NHL. ;) During the olympics I don't think yer allowed to play for other teams unless your a native of that soil. Brett Hull plays for the Americans cuz he's the best they got so strings are probably pulled. I've spent alot of money on McDonalds pucks, jersey, hockey sticks, shirts even a tattoo for the sake of Team Canada, so they better win. I love hockey as much as the next Canadian, but what do the national teams really mean? I mean there are people playing on a certain nation’s team that isn't even from that country. Canada for most of the year is mostly under ice and snow. So it's only natural we play hockey. You know when Brazil won the fifa cup thing against Italy...? and TV showed all these Brazilian kids playing soccer in the streets. Hasaki, They were talkin about ice hockey. In India even if they wnated to, they couldnt play it cause there is no ice anywhere except in kasmir and there, they'll never get to finish a game cause of bombs abd mines and missile and stuff fallin all over the place... I personally can't remember the last time Canada won gold in the olympics, probably cuz i wasn't even alive. This year Gretzky is promising a dream team.
