I am preparing a presentation for class in college where I plan to cover the Virtual Folder feature in Windows Vista. My plan is to compare regular folders to virtual folders. Do you all know where I could legally get and use some screens of Windows Vista (particularly an image of regular folder icons and virtual folder icons) in my presentation? Also after receiving such images, would I be free to modify the images such as cropping to make them fit better into the presentation? Are there any such restrictions? Thanks for all of your help in advance.

You can find plenty of screenshots at this website. http://www.winsupersite.com/vista/[^] You can also find a bunch on Microsoft's official site. http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsvista/about/[^]

When do you need them, I won't be able to install Vista until i move into my new apartment but I could probably have them by the end of the week. Matt Newman

Well, I really appreciate the offer, however, unfortunately the presentation is to be given this upcoming Monday. :sigh:

Thanks for the URL links, however, are there any restrictions on modifications that can be legally made to these screenshot images from these sites such as cropping, etc to make them work out better in a presentation. I am planning to give credit to where I got the images from originally. That's not an issue. Just wondering... :~

They had to do something since they removed all the useful features to get a product to market, any product, even if it has little or no added value. There are two things that smell like fish... one of them is fish.

If any of you who have a the beta 1 copy of Windows Vista would, please take a moment to take a screenshot of Windows Explorer open showing regular folders (preferably where the folders are set to a larger size) and also please take a screenshot of Windows Explorer open showing some of the default virtual folders (again, preferably where the folders are set to a larger size) and then email them to me to bn@n-tp.com I would really appreciate it. I don't mind giving you credit for sending them to me in my presentation. :) Thanks.
