Mitac Laptops

Continuing my quest for info on this[^] laptop... I have found that it is made by Mitac (Model 8317). Anyone ever heard of them, what kind of quality are thier products etc? Thanks...

My laptop is by AJP who are basically rebranded mitac. I think the laptop is ok feature wise, and is fairly powerful. However, the laptop is now about three-and-a-bit years old. The battery has been replaced, and the CD/DVD works only intermittently. The contrast on the LCD isn't great either, and it does rely rather heavily on noisy fans for cooling. However it's not a bad laptop, but probably not the best - but few PCs are after 3 years (except my desktop which still rocks!) Joel Holdsworth
