Hmm. I couldn't find anything about ActiveX support. It would be nice with a very lightweight language just to try out controls with. I know VB exists, but they damn sucker holds a reference to the DLL, so I have to kill VB each time I recompile the ActiveX control. Does anybody know if it is possible to make VB "deactivate" ActiveX controls while in design mode? Sonorked as well: 100.13197 jorgen

Bet you read about that in Developer 2.0. Or at least I hope I am not alone in getting the dumbed-down Dr. Dobbs delivered to my doorstep every month. ;P A list is only as strong as its weakest link. - Don Knuth

I would be extremely skeptical of anything that has DirectX support built in, just as I would of anything that "features" integrated support for data access. All that stuff needs to be abstracted off the main language. I'd wager nobody would be very happy if STL was an official part of the C++ language...? Same thing. ___________ Klaus [www.vbbox.com]

Most programmers get better in time, get more experience, more knowledge and use better technologies. With Nish it seems to be the opposit, he's always looking for a better shortcut. Well Nish, I got news for you - it can't get any easier than VB. Isaac Sasson, Small time programmer - complainer at large. Sonork ID 100.13704

I think a lot of C++ coders actually use VB for just that : testing their ActiveX controls :-) Nish Nish was here, now Nish has gone; He left his soul, to turn you on; Those who knew Nish, knew him well; Those who didn't, can go to hell.
