Hello everyone, Is £1200 enough as a monthly pay in UK? Accomodation and food is payed by the company in a 4 star hotel, so no bills for electricity and water and no payments for apartments or accomodations. Is it good or not? Regards, Luke

I'd say that's pretty damn good. My mortgage (which is just below the current UK average house price) is almost £1000 a month, plus £50 for gas/electric. I guess you won't be paying local council tax either (which costs me another £150).
I am currently living in malta, but a friend just offered me this opportunity. to go to UK and work there on Visual C#. Apart from the already payed accomodation and stuff like that, every 2 weeks or 3 if i remember correctly they issue an airticket to come home for 4 days to see my family. The problem is i'm 21 and im afraid of working in an other country, i'll miss my family i guess and all the friends. If you know what i mean? It sounds like a very good job to take, but when i think that i have to leave everything behind, it kinds of scares me, I know i'll be coming every 2 weeks and stuff, but still. Do you understand me? Do it now while you can :) One day when you are older maybe with house, wife kids, bills etc you'll wonder "should i have gone for it?". Only with hindsight and many years under the bridge do you realise what opportunities you had when you were younger and didn't take them. As Robert says .... if it's not right go back home and carry on as you are. I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

My Friend told me but i forgot where exactly. I know i can adapt myself to the envoriment and i have a couple of friends i could visit in UK + there are other maltese workers there so i could feel home and if i can't solve a problem and swear everyone can understand me hehe. so i guess i should go for it :) Being only 21 with the opportunity to earn up to 1200 a month, i think its a good idea. I heard there are some managers up in UK they earn up to 300 sterling a day, that would be a major pay. I would feel like prince charles lol haha Regards, Luke

For how long (work and the is the accomodation for the duration of the work)? Remember that if this is for more than 6 months you are subject to UK tax etc. (I think). You will have to pay tax somewhere. Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

Depending on UK tax law there might be a gotcha. In the US, even if your employer is paying for temporary housing directly it's treated as taxable income which could mean a nasty surprise come tax day.

Enough? Depends for what. With accomodation paid for it equates to around the average for London I guess. Best to check some of the IT job sites for the UK and see what you're worth. Some skills in IT will make that much per day, plus expenses.
