Just an interesting question i came up with. If you see an alien and it sees you too, who will be more scared? You or it? I was reading up some info on UFOs when this question struck my mind:) Weiye Chen Life is hard, yet we are made of flesh...

Who's more afraid you when you see the chipmunk or the bear when it sees you and it's hungry? Your answer is going to be largely based on the size and composition of whatever it is you think you are encountering as your human experience tells you the bigger and the nastier it looks the more likely it is to harm you. Peaceful animals don't need 9" claws same goes with whatever you think you are seeing. If whatever you see is 9" tall then you are going to feel safe unless it has a gun with size-to-firepower ratio of those in Men In Black. Never underestimate a weapon named Noisey Cricket lest it's discharge propel you several dozen feet in the opposite direction. If it's 10' tall weighs a few tons and has fangs as long as your legs I'd tend to think you better start running and screaming. This question baffles me as your 5 senses and possibly a 6th are going to clue you in immediately to the obvious threats involved. ;P I will always believe we will have more to fear of people than anything else and that's a sad thing.

And this would lead to another question. Will the aliens think of leaving when they saw us? Of course that will probably depend on the human's reaction. I think we should act agressive, monsterous, violent, etc, in the face of an alien so that fear runs through their mind and they will leave earth. :~ Weiye Chen Life is hard, yet we are made of flesh...

If they landed around here (California) they would probably come to the conclusion that dogs ar the dominant life-form on the planet. They may be impressed by human achievement, but then when they see use walking around behind dogs scooping up their poop ... Steve T

Rather, I the way I see it is that if I saw a humanoid shape materialise in my yard, I would think he had taken way too much acid, not me; I'm still at home. Gene Roddenberry was a legendary pioneer of thought-provoking, futuristic science fiction. George Lucas created Jar Jar Binks.

What if they were just here making crop circles and had to get out to take a whiz or whatever they might do? One of my favorite quotes ever, "Elvis is not dead. He just went home."

When they come here, they are likely prepared to meet someone. We, however, are not. The rest will be determined by their and our "darwinian conditioning" - do they look more Grizzly or more Panda? Do we look more like their "Single-nosed bulbous head-cruncher", or "like this little guy in this comic, you know"?

When I say this, I probably speak for Roger W and Marc C too :-) "If the alien met my ex-wife, it may need intensive care treatment for a few weeks before it may regain consciousness" Nish :-D

If that ever happens the alien will shortly conclude that, not only is there no intelligent life here, but despite that fact, this planet is anything but harmless. It's clearly hostile!:-D What a great place to build an intergalactic bypass! Who's going to miss it? "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

Never mind the aliens - I feel like I need a month of intensive therapy every time I'm unfortunate enough to encounter her! Anna :rose: Riverblade Ltd - Software Consultancy Services Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up.
