Sorry, didn't mean to remind anyone of any particular war... I'm not an American (thank god!) so don't think I hold a grudge. Isaac Sasson, Small time programmer - complainer at large. Uhuuuhu. I doubt this will happen soon/anytime :-) It was just to avoid people trying to steal CPs success by simply grabbing the domain name in their country. You all can contribute: get CodeProject.[yourcountry] and redirect it to CodeProject.com. (That's just an idea of MINE, Chris has nothing to do with it :-)). -- See me: www.magerquark.de

I'm curious as I often use Yanks for Americans, Poms for Englanders, etc. Most of the W- War2 vetrans at the local club here use far less kind names to describe them, ( But then I guess torture and starvation practices ensured this ) Strange though that so many use Toyota, Nissan and Mitsi products. Which brings up an interesting point: technically, I am an American, so the word "Jap" shouldn't offend me, but my dad's side of the family is 100% Japanese. I *know* that when he was growing up, and that when his parents were growing up, they dealt with bigotry and racism. I liken its usage toward Japanese people to the usage of the word "Nigger" toward black people (or African Americans for those that consider "black" offensive, or insert your favorite pc term here). "Let's put those 'Japs' into a concentration camp." I can deal with a friend calling me a Jap in jest. Perhaps I misinterpreted Isaac's intentions, but the way he freely used the term "Jap," it didn't sound to me like he was joking. </rant> My $0.02 Jon Sagara What about :bob:? Cool! I've always assumed your name is of Spanish (Mexican) origin. I probably associated it with saguaro :). I would never thought of it being a Japanese name. My dictionary says it means something like "good fellow" or maybe even "mutual goodness", but i'm not good at this, so i could be way off. Call me weird, but i love japanese names, especially female ones:-O.

Nowadays, people who meet me don't exactly know what to make of me because I have fair skin (thanks Mom) and hardly look Japanese at all (what happened there, Dad?). I guess Mom has the dominant genes in the relationship. :) Jon Sagara What about :bob:? Sonork ID: 100.9999 jonsagara
