Can anyone give me any details as to which Mobile Handset is worth buying? I am not looking for something which has a huge pricetag. Maybe something in the range of 5000 to 10000 Indian Rupees. Any suggestions are welcome. Bikash Rai

Don't touch the Motorola ones - I've heard so many problems with software and battery life, esp. on Razr. :sigh: The tigress is here :-D

I do quite a lot of mobile development and a requirement of that is that you purchase and use quite a few different handsets from different manufacturers. Contrary to Elaine's advice I've found the non-3G Motorola phones over the last 2 years to have the better battery life than the other big players (SE & Nokia), so long as you don't leave bluetooth on - i.e. so long as you don't use a BT headset, etc. I currently have the V635 as my personal phone* and in the eight months I've had it I've not had any problems with the battery. Elaine was correct about the software though - it doens't crash often or anything like that but if you are used to using other handsets then it will take you a little bit of time to adapt to having everything you need hidden behind three levels of menu. I haven't used the V3/Razr for more than half an hour at a time so I can't comment on the battery on that model. * Before that I used the V600 for 12 months, and the V66 for the previous 12 months, and both are still being used by family members daily and haven't developed problems yet, since I beat the following advice into them: As with any phone however beware cheap imitation batteries. I bought a SE K700 from a reputable UK retailer about six months ago and it came with a cheap Chinese-import battery in the retail box. Needless to say the battery started having problems and died after only a few weeks. Never buy batteries form eBay, only ever buy direct from the handset manufacturer. Everytime a friend of family member has come to me with problems on their phone - either battery life or stability - it has started and ended with the question "where did you get this battery from". If you are looking at the current Motorola V-hundred range then most are about the same as far as battery life, sound quality, etc. One thing to note with the Motorola phones I've used is that whilst the sound quality is by far the best from the current crop of competition it comes at the price of needing a strong signal. If you live in a poorly covered area I wouldn't recommend getting one without testing it out first.

Indeed. The hologram was printed on the label in black and white - they didn't even bother to use colour.

David, it's good point about original batteries. I've known a few people had battery life problems using with the battery supplied with the phone. The tigress is here :-D

A lot of hiogh street retailers will cut together their own packages, and supply imported batteries. That way you'll come back and buy the original one in the future. It's a highly competetive market. :sigh:
