Home Theater PC
-
Hi I am planning to build a home theater PC for myself. I am looking to a nice case that has display and a volume button in the front. I saw some cases have the power unit outside of the case. I think this is good because is eliminating a big source of heat. What do you think? Any suggestion is welcome Thanks, Florian Szoke

Perhaps this is a good question for the Hardware forum? Regardless - checkout the following places for cases ... NewEgg[^] Xoxide Computer Cases[^] ... and this site is just cool ... The Best Case Scenario[^] :->

I want one of these[^] but I probably couldn't afford it if I could find someone that sold it. What are your plans for OS etc? Matt Newman

Make sure it's quite! I have an old machine running gb-pvr and it's noisy. I ended up putting it in a closet with the IR cord exposed so I could run the remote.
I have a DVR from Cox Cable (Motorola box I think) and it is very loud. I have it in a wood cabinet with a glass front and I can still hear it. :omg: I think it might even be louder than my computer. X| -J
Think of a computer program. Somewhere, there is one key instruction, and everything else is just functions calling themselves, or brackets billowing out endlessly through an infinite address space. What happens when the brackets collapse? Where's the final 'end if'? Is any of this making sense? -Ford Prefect

u dont need to worry about the heat generated if ur unit has a nice aluminium shielding(heat sink) set up. its gonna take care of it.. and looks good too. but its recommended that u dont cover it up with any cloth or someother thing.. a good ventilation will do. i also see to that its not looking clumsy. go for a set of satellite speakers.. and no external power unit. regards, V
