Does anyone rate the MS certification programme? Should I be looking into it, or should I not bother? Dylan Kenneally London,UK

I am beginning to think that a separate forum should be started for this kind of discussion ;-) Jus kidding Dylan, jus kidding :-) Nish Nish was here, now Nish has gone; He left his soul, to turn you on; Those who knew Nish, knew him well; Those who didn't, can go to hell. I like to :jig: on the Code Project Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org

I guess it depends on what you want to do it for. For educational purposes, I would say go and buy a good book rather than spending time on MCSE certification preparation. But a certification is maybe a good idea for your CV. Before getting flamed: I know that a certification does not say anything about actual skills. But HR people usually don't. :-D

I agree with all that (esp the hr part). However, I might add that if you can get your current employer to spring for the cost of the certification, then do so. Otherwise, save your money.

The difference is that if you trying to find a job and have a certification your employer will probably reconize that (hiring you instead of the guys who don´t have the certification). I don´t about other countrys but certifications have great value here in Brazil (I think because good jobs are hard to find over here). Mauricio Ritter - Brazil Sonorking now: 100.13560 Trank

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Basically my current jobs a joke, so I'm going to try and get as much out of this lot as possible before moving on (I only finished uni 8 months ago). Looking on the MS site, it turns out the VC++.NET certification stuff isn't ready yet, so I guess I'll be waiting for that to come along before I approach my boss. Thanks once again Dylan Kenneally London,UK
