acronym building...
-
Yes, I googled, I came up a lot of "random" acronym building sites to help... I could easily just toss out the letters, but I prefer real words. Anyone know of a program or site that will take a list of words (or just letters) and match the letters to real words? This is one time when I wish I had a decent vocabulary, and a 2nd or 3rd language to draw on for help. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Nope, reverse... creating a new real-time capability engine, which is kind of what I do for a living. So I have a product I want to build, I know what it should do, so now I just need a name for it. :) In my business, most names are acronyms and in some cases your chances improve based on the quality and quantity of acronyms you use to describe your product. I didn't write the rules... I just live by them. The hard part is trying to fit 'R' and 'U' into a word without being rude. ;) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I haven't seen a machine that will do that. But I seriously think the best way to get a good result is via a humanoid wordsmith. Regardz Colin J Davies The most LinkedIn CPian (that I know of anyhow) :-)

It's probably patented though. ;P Marc My website Traceract Understanding Simple Data Binding Diary Of A CEO - Preface

I wouldn't mind having somethign take all the letters and say gee, how many words match these letters. A cross between the random acronym builders and an anagram builder. So far I have, manually, come up with Rubicon, rhumbs, route, and even urban using various combinations of words related to the subject matter. I actually like Rubicon, and rhumbs actually makes the most information directly in the acronym, but it is not a word most people know -- urban was half-joke but it works too. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I thought you were supposed to create the acronym first and then build the product for it! We once wanted to name a spacecraft guidance algorithm Boeing Adaptive Guidance or "BAD Guidance" but the managers didn't like it ;) - Matt Jessick
